Alright, she's not the most beautiful thing in the world, and she needs to be washed, but she's a lot better than my first car:
For $300, she did pretty well!
Anyhow, back to the beginning.
So, Shirley (named after Shirley Temple because she has dimples (from the hail damage that technically totaled her)) was making all sorts of squeaking noises and ticking when I turned and all of this other nasty things, so I finally took her into the shop. $300 later, I had 2 new belts, a new front axle, and dreams of finally being able to road trip!
I love road trips. Seriously. There are times when I get in my car, and all of a sudden I feel like I'm flying and the only thing I want to do in the world is keep driving. It's all about the adventure!
Alright, now that I'm done rhapsodizing about road trips, I'll get right down to it: For YEARS, ever since I was in high school, I've been planning this mega Father of All Road Trips. Of course, it's changed over the years, but what great plan hasn't? I graduated from college this last May, and I realized that if this Road Trip is ever going to become a possibility, it has to happen soon.
I'm currently in grad school getting my MBA, and what better transition into my new life than a huge Trip?? Once I graduate, I'm (hopefully) moving to Bellingham, WA (only the most beautiful place on EARTH ( and where my family is from)), which, coincidentally, just so happened to be one of my stops on my original Road Trip. With a little modification, my Trip is now my Move!
This blog is dedicated to mapping out my Road Trip and all of the ups and downs that come with planning a masterpiece like this. Most likely, I'll also have other mini-trips scattered here and there throughout the blog too.
So sit back, try to enjoy, and watch my Adventure unfold!
